The first "Silver Shila" National Large
Jacquard Fabric Creative Design Contest, organized by the China Cotton Textile Industry Association, the Zibo Economic and Information Technology Commission of Shandong Province, and the Zibo Textile Industry Association, has officially entered its implementation phase. Co-sponsored by Zibo Silver Shiraz Textile Co., Ltd., the event is the result of extensive preparation and collaboration among all involved parties. The contest is now open for submissions, aiming to promote innovation and creativity in jacquard fabric design.
Jacquard fabrics are known for their large-scale patterns, vibrant colors, structured designs, and three-dimensional textures. These characteristics make them highly desirable in the luxury textile market. However, due to their complex production process and high manufacturing costs, they are considered premium products with significant value. As living standards in China continue to rise, the demand for jacquard fabrics is growing rapidly, presenting a promising future for the industry.
Despite this potential, Chinese jacquard fabrics have struggled with limited design innovation, which has hindered their competitiveness in the global market. To address this challenge, the first "Silver Shila" Cup competition brings together industry organizations, textile and fashion universities, and renowned designers to discover new talent and foster creative thinking in fabric design.
The contest welcomes participants from domestic and international textile companies, professional designers, design agencies, faculty and students from design institutions, and anyone passionate about textile art. All entries must be original works. In the preliminary round, an expert jury will select 30 series of entries as finalists based on color renderings. In the final stage, the jury will evaluate the creative concept, form, structure, color, material, technology, and commercial value of each entry to determine the award winners.
Judges include experts from industry authorities, leading academic institutions, professional media, and well-known fashion and textile designers. Awards include a gold prize of 20,000 yuan, two silver prizes of 10,000 yuan each, three bronze prizes of 5,000 yuan each, and four excellent awards of 3,000 yuan each. The submission deadline is April 30, 2011.
This competition represents a significant step forward in promoting high-quality jacquard design and supporting the development of the textile industry in China.
