Jacquard Fabric Creative Design Contest has officially launched. Supported by Zibo Silver Shiraz Textile Co., Ltd., the event is now in its implementation phase, with active efforts from all participating parties to ensure a smooth and successful competition.
Jacquard fabrics are known for their large, intricate patterns, pure color schemes, structured designs, and strong three-dimensional effects. However, they are also challenging to produce, requiring high skill levels, significant costs, and offering substantial added value. As such, jacquard fabrics are often considered premium products in the textile industry.
With the continuous improvement of living standards in China, the demand for jacquard fabrics has seen rapid growth, indicating a promising future market. However, the lack of creative design and innovation has limited the competitiveness of Chinese jacquard fabrics on the global stage.
The first "Silver Shila" Cup design contest aims to address this gap by bringing together industry organizations, textile and fashion colleges, and renowned designers to foster talent, promote brand development, and encourage creative thinking in jacquard fabric design. The competition is open to domestic and international textile companies, professional designers, design agencies, faculty and students from design institutions, and all participants are required to submit original works.
During the preliminary round, an expert jury will select 30 series of finalists based on the submitted color renderings. In the final stage, the jury will evaluate the entries comprehensively, considering factors such as creativity, form, structure, color, material, technology, and commercial value. The panel consists of industry authorities, representatives from prestigious institutions, media leaders, and well-known textile and apparel designers.
Awards include a gold prize of 20,000 yuan, two silver prizes each worth 10,000 yuan, three bronze prizes of 5,000 yuan each, and four excellent awards of 3,000 yuan each. The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2011.
This competition not only highlights the importance of design in the textile industry but also provides a platform for emerging talents to showcase their skills and contribute to the evolution of high-end jacquard fabric production in China.
