In late 1995, PAUL FRANK, a small staff member of a local newsstand, began making wallets to reward his band. Made of aseptic artificial leather, printed with LOGOs that evolved from the 1950's engravings, this personally tailored wallet was so popular in PAUL's hometown (Huntington Coast, California) that it became popular. PAUL immediately discovered that his inspiration was spent on the work of others. One day PAUL promised to make a wallet for a fan HEUSER. He was not familiar with HEUSER, but HEUSER was moved by PAUL's wallet gift and friendship developed rapidly between the two. The prototype of the PAUL FRANK Manufacturer (PFI) was born.
