announcing the hollywood trousers sew-along

We're thrilled to announce that we'll be hosting a Liesl + Co. Hollywood Trousers sew-along from October 22nd to October 24th. Your votes really made this happen, and we're excited to see everyone join in! Check out Liesl's introduction post for some fantastic fabric and styling inspiration. She's also curated a Pinterest board specifically for these trousers, which is a great resource for anyone getting started. These trousers are designed to give you that classic movie star look—very fitted, moderately high-rise, and wide-legged. The pattern includes a traditional zipper fly with a fly shield, back darts for shaping, and optional front pockets with menswear-style pocket stays for a smooth, sleek appearance. You can choose to include an optional lining, which adds an extra touch of professionalism. The inseam is adjusted forward for a better fit, ensuring you'll have trousers that look tailor-made for any occasion. For the fabric, you can opt for lightweight wools such as wool suiting, tropical wool, or wool crepe. Twills, fine-wale corduroy, and drapey canvas are also excellent choices. If you decide to add a lining, cotton lawn, rayon lining (like cupro or Bemberg), or China silk work beautifully.
